IPPF-ESEAOR, through the SPRINT Initiative, partnered with the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center to build capacity of NGOs to respond to humanitarian crisis. A Regional Training on the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP) on Reproductive Health was held from 19th-22nd of May in Bangkok as a result of this partnership.

A total of 18 participants from Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka actively engaged in this four day training to ensure effective reproductive health services in the aftermath of disaster in their respective countries.

The training curriculum and interactive sessions including the simulation exercise was developed with the technical proficiency of IPPF-SPRINT and ADPC in terms of disaster risk management and SRH in emergency. This has created a synergistic effect for delivering quality training and going beyond participants’ expectations.

“I congratulate the team for a successful training. Personally it was a great opportunity for me to learn from everyone involved in the training- the rich experiences the facilitators and the participants shared, and the friendship you all offered. I look forward for the continuation of this partnership.”
