Mr S. Bayar the newly elected Prime Minister of Mongolia has established a Civil Society Council under his cabinet and Dr Choi Semjidmaa the Executive Director of Mongolia Family Welfare Association (MFWA) has been invited as a member to this Council. MFWA was the only NGO representing the Health Sector. Dr Semjidmaa met Mr S. Bayar when all the Civil Society delegates were invited.

Dr Semjidmaa informed the Cabinet the objectives of MFWA and of IPPF. 31 January was declared as a Civil Society Day by the Prime Minister. This initiative has opened the doors to good collaborations between the government, civil societies and NGOs and paved to way for more visibility of MFWA, IPPF and SRHR.
